The AC30S1 is a clever refinement of the legendary Vox blueprint, stripping away the complexity of the traditional two-channel layout to focus purely on the iconic Top Boost circuit. By ditching the Normal channel, Vox has created a more immediate, plug-and-play experience that still delivers that signature EL84 chime and harmonic richness. The transition from crystalline cleans to that gritty, aggressive British bite is incredibly touch-sensitive, responding beautifully to your guitar's volume knob and pick attack.
One of the biggest wins here is the weight reduction. Moving to a 1x12 configuration makes this a much more gig-friendly companion than its back-breaking 2x12 predecessors. However, that single Celestion VX12 speaker does sacrifice some of the 'wall of sound' depth and low-end resonance found in the classic AC30C2.
