The PRS SE Silver Sky is the affordable version of John Mayer's signature PRS model, targeting players who want vintage single-coil tones with PRS build quality and modern refinements. It features a poplar body, a bolt-on maple neck with a 635JM carve that sits between a C and D profile, and a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets on an 8.5-inch vintage radius. Three 635JM S single-coil pickups are designed to deliver warm, expressive vintage tones with a pronounced midrange character, sitting somewhere between traditional Stratocaster sparkle and a slightly thicker, more vocal quality. The five-way blade switch and two-point steel tremolo bridge provide classic functionality, and the tuning stability is impressive for a non-locking tremolo design.
