The Epiphone SG Standard is an affordable take on the legendary Gibson SG, designed for rock-oriented players who want a lightweight, aggressive guitar without the premium price tag. It features a mahogany body with the classic double-cutaway shape, a SlimTaper D-profile mahogany neck, and a laurel fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets on a 12-inch radius. Two ProBucker humbucking pickups deliver punchy, midrange-rich tones with plenty of bite for rock, hard rock, and blues, with enough clarity in the neck position for smooth lead work. The lightweight construction keeps the guitar comfortable during long playing sessions, and the full upper-fret access is excellent for soloing. Hardware includes a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece for improved sustain and tuning stability, along with Grover Rotomatic tuners. Build quality is consistent and respectable, with clean fretwork and well-applied finishes.
