While the back and sides are laminate, the solid spruce top is the star here, providing the necessary resonance for that classic square-shoulder projection. It's a rhythmic powerhouse, offering a balanced midrange that sits perfectly under a vocalist's range"never too boomy, yet authoritative.
The 24.75" scale length is a standout feature for playability; the slightly reduced string tension makes barre chords and multi-step bends significantly more accessible for intermediate players compared to standard dreadnoughts. The SlimTaper "D" neck profile feels modern and fast, though the gloss finish can get a bit "grabby" during long sessions.
In terms of trade-offs, the onboard Fishman Sonitone electronics are functional but lean toward the "quacky" side if pushed hard through a PA. Additionally, the thick polyester finish, while durable, slightly dampens the top's ultimate vibration compared to nitrocellulose finishes found on higher-tier models.
