Its standout feature is undoubtedly the kick drum; it's surprisingly massive, capable of delivering a sub-heavy thump that punches well above its weight class. The hats are equally impressive"crisp, metallic, and distinctly analog. However, the snare is the unit's 'Achilles' heel,' often sounding thin and papery without the popular 'C70 mod.'
The hybrid architecture, combining analog cores with lo-fi PCM samples for the clap and agogos, gives it a gritty, retro character that fits perfectly into lo-fi house or techno setups. From a playability standpoint, the 'Stutter' effect is a live-performance gem, allowing for glitchy rolls and rhythmic tension on the fly.
