Voorversterker met één kanaal met unieke dubbele buis/solid-state-topologie en mengregeling, plus UA-ontworpen uitgangstransformator voor klassiek Universal Audio-karakter.
The 710 Twin-Finity is a masterclass in versatility for the modern project studio. While Universal Audio is often associated with high-end vintage clones, the 710 is a forward-thinking workhorse. Its standout feature"the phase-aligned blend knob"allows you to sweep from clinical, high-fidelity solid-state clarity to the saturated, harmonically rich warmth of a 12AX7 tube stage. This isn't just a gimmick; it's a powerful tool for tailoring the 'speed' and 'weight' of a signal in real-time.
On percussion or acoustic guitars, the solid-state side offers the fast transient response needed for detail. Conversely, cranking the tube side adds a pleasing 'glue' and harmonic grit to vocals or DI bass. Speaking of DI, the front-panel JFET input is exceptionally punchy and rivals many dedicated boutique DI boxes.
Build-wise, it's a tank, though the half-rack form factor can be a bit awkward in a standard desk setup without the optional rack kit. My only minor gripe is that the tube saturation can feel slightly less 'airy' compared to UA's higher-end 610 series, but for the price, the flexibility is unbeatable. It's the ideal choice for the intermediate engineer who needs one reliable preamp to handle everything from clean voiceovers to aggressive rock guitars.
