Overview
The Yamaha EAD10 is an innovative electronic-acoustic drum module that captures the sound of an entire acoustic drum kit through a single sensor and microphone unit, then processes it with studio-quality effects and layered electronic sounds in real time. The core of the system is the DT50S drum trigger and microphone sensor that mounts on the kick drum hoop, simultaneously capturing the kick via a contact trigger and the full kit via an integrated stereo condenser microphone. The module processes the captured acoustic signal through high-quality reverb, compression, distortion, and modulation effects, transforming the raw kit sound into a polished, studio-ready signal. Electronic drum and percussion sounds can be layered over the acoustic signal, triggered by the kick sensor and an additional snare trigger input. The fifty preset scenes provide instant access to professionally designed effect combinations spanning genres from rock and pop to electronic and experimental. The USB audio interface function sends the processed signal directly to a computer for recording. The free iOS app provides deep editing and additional content.
