Overview
The Arturia MiniBrute 2 is a semi-modular monophonic analog synthesizer that delivers aggressive, characterful sound design capabilities with a patchable architecture aimed at players who want to explore modular synthesis without committing to a full Eurorack system. The sound engine features two analog oscillators with multiple waveforms including Arturia's signature Metalizer and Ultrasaw waveshapers, a Steiner-Parker multimode filter with low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass modes, and a Brute Factor feedback circuit that adds harmonically rich distortion and self-oscillation. The 48-point CV patch bay on the top panel allows extensive repatching of the signal and modulation routing, enabling sound design possibilities that go far beyond what the normalled signal path provides. The step sequencer and arpeggiator add rhythmic performance capabilities, and the sequencer can output CV and gate signals to control external modular gear. The 25 semi-weighted keys with aftertouch provide expressive control for leads, basses, and experimental textures.
